From the Providence Journal…

Restaurateurs Leonard and Sherri Mello have opened their third Tavolo, quietly building their local chain. The newest Tavolo Wine Bar & Tuscan Grille is in Warwick. It’s on Post Road where Legal Sea Foods operated for 22 years until the updated concept, Legal Sea Bar, opened in Cranston’s Garden City Center last October.

Though the space has been extensively renovated, it will feel familiar to patrons. It’s warm and woody with low ceilings. On each table is a bottle of dipping oil for bread. The menu is full of comforting appetizers, salads, grilled pizza, sandwiches, meat and fish entrees and signature Italian specialties. Unlike the other Tavolos, in Smithfield and on Atwells Avenue in Providence, this one also has a raw bar menu because of the restaurant’s former tenant. Leonard Mello said that since the space existed for the preparation of lobster tails, mussels and oysters on the half shell, they chose to add them to the menu…
